Tomorrow is Official “Napoleon Hill Day”!

Napoleon Hill

Fan of the book, “Think and Grow Rich”?

Follow Napoleon Hill on Twitter or Facebook or any other social media platform, even though he’s been dead for almost 50 years now? 😉

If so, tomorrow’s a fun day to celebrate him! The great Commonwealth of Virginia has officially declared this Saturday, October 26th, to be Napoleon Hill Day (his birthday), and would make for a great day to crack open his book again and percolate 😉 Even though, yes, the truth behind who he may really have been has since been called into question, haha…

(See: The Untold Story of Napoleon Hill, the Greatest Self-Help Scammer of All Time by Gizmodo)

Still, as a fan of the book, and really ANYTHING that gets people paying attention to their money more, I’ll be pouring some out in his honor this weekend and only hope to leave a fraction of that type of legacy behind myself…

I can see it now – “J. Money Day – April 1st!” 😉

Here’s Virginia’s official proclamation for anyone who enjoys such things:

WHEREAS, Napoleon Hill was born on October 26, 1883, in Wise County, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Napoleon Hill is known throughout the world as one of the earliest writers of the modern genre of personal-success literature, for writing countless quotes and famous speeches, and for helping others lead more productive and satisfying lives; and

WHEREAS, Napoleon Hill’s writings outline a philosophy of success that includes the importance of clear goals, focused determination, persistence, ethical dealings with others, and maintaining a positive attitude; and

WHEREAS, Napoleon Hill has influenced innumerable leaders and citizens working in various fields across our nation and around the world to strive towards their goals and achieve success; and

WHEREAS, Napoleon Hill, a Southwest Virginia native, exemplified Virginia values, such as hard work, commitment, and purposeful living; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia is pleased to recognize Napoleon Hill for his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievements;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize October 26, 2019, as NAPOLEON HILL DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.

I used to be signed up to his daily notes of inspiration and they were great… Short little quips that get you going in the morning before the hustle starts. You can try ’em here if you want –> NapHill.org

It’s all a bit “Secret”‘ish at times (the power of “thinking” yourself to wealth and happiness and laws of attraction, etc), but if it gets you to take action in the end, then I’m all for it. Who doesn’t need some extra positive thinking in their lives?!

Here’s more on the book too for anyone not familiar… Came out in the 1930s and still just as relevant!

“Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill

think and grow rich

From Amazon:

In Think and Grow Rich, Hill draws on stories of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and other millionaires of his generation to illustrate his principles. This book will teach you the secrets that could bring you a fortune. It will show you not only what to do but how to do it. Once you learn and apply the simple, basic techniques revealed here, you will have mastered the secret of true and lasting success.

Money and material things are essential for freedom of body and mind, but there are some who will feel that the greatest of all riches can be evaluated only in terms of lasting friendships, loving family relationships, understanding between business associates, and introspective harmony which brings one true peace of mind! All who read, understand, and apply this philosophy will be better prepared to attract and enjoy these spiritual values.

The Simple Dollar put out a great review of it years ago: Review: Think and Grow Rich

(Btw, for any rare book collectors out there, the original first edition of this one is hugely sought after! They go for thousands on Ebay and a good one to watch for at your local thrift stores! ;))

At any rate, that’s all I’ve got for you today! Happy Friday!! I’m off to explore a local museum I go by almost every single day and have yet to step foot into, haha…

Been trying to experience at least ONE NEW THING a week, and so far so AMAZING… More on that soon!! Gotta keep that brain lit! 🔥🔥🔥
